The Benefits of Stretching:
Stretching can increase flexibility. Flexible muscles can improve your daily performance. Tasks such as lifting packages, bending to tie your shoes, or hurrying to catch a bus become easier and less tiring.
Stretching improves range of motion of your joints. Good range of motion keeps you in better balance, which will keep you mobile and less prone to injury from falls - especially as you age.
Stretching can relieve stress. Stretching relaxes the tense muscles that often accompany stress.
Stretching improves circulation. Stretching increases blood flow to your muscles. Improved ciculation can speed recovery after muslce injuries.
Manual Stretching:
There is something to be said for the effect of the manual stretch. Hopefully, most of you stretch after your workout, however you probably do not stretch long enough which leads to a less effective stretch.
When a manual stretch is applied to your muscles from a trained professional, it is much more effective becuase the body relazes, the muscles respond more effectively, and the benefits of stretching are long lasting. In addition, it just makes you feel great. Who couldn't use some of that?
A trained professional is your best advocate:
A trained professional has a variety of stetching techniques that the average person may not be aware of. After a thorough evaluation, the trainer will be able to apply the most effective technique. In addition, at the end of your stetching package, your trainer will provide you with a take home stetching program that you can do at home to make the most of your manual stretching experience.
Education and Experience of our staff:
Our trainers and physical therapists have education in either Physical Therapy or a Health and Wellness degree programs. Also, our staff is certified and experienced in treating many different physical ailments ranging from post operative orthopedic procedures to stress management.
Not so fast:
If you think your workout is complete because you are consistently challenging your cardio and strength training program, hold on. Your muscles worked hard for you. Don't forget to give them something in return. A good stretch may be just what you need to help your muscles relax!
